Act of Choosing

CHOICE- (noun) an act of choosing between two or more possibilities. Everyone likes making choices and choosing what they think is appropriate for them. We make choices almost everyday, well, every minute to be precise. Whether to snooze the alarm or to dismiss it, whether to take a bus to work or walk till the office, to continue watching TV or complete the homework... and the list goes on. Sometimes there is this really weird thing about making a choice- People feel that they are compelled to do something but if you see in actuality, they aren't. They have a choice of not feeling compelled to do something and hence not do it. It's quite amusing that one different choice can lead to a completely different life, maybe totally contradictory to the one you are living in. We often think that- what if I had chosen a different career or what would life be like if I had taken a different road to success? Ruthless Slayer

Bit nervous and a little too excited Chasing her dreams was Always that she sighted. Angular, hazel eyes and Long straight hair. Ohh no!! She was more Like a teddy bear. Sweetly plum, curly hair Not so fair, But the chubby girl Was as bubbly as you dare. She might not be the so called Dream girl and Neither beguiling. But had a heart of gold Which was as pretty as a Marsh marigold. Stepping in a new city, She quickly joined the college committee. Little was she aware About the cyclone that approached Without the board of beware. But how long can the society, Hold back their harsh comments. And not make the person Edgy and irritable. Soon the college people Started making her life miserable. Nagging her by commenting On her weight and semblance Being neglected and All she dreamt was riddance. Yet where can she even run Everywhere she was made fun. Shattering her confidence and self esteem It felt like a life without a sun beam. She questioned Why ?

I before WE

She was a new comer in the school, He - a studious child Both unaware of the love Between them, Which was tender and mild.  So, what was next ?? Looking from the corner of the eye, But none had the guts to say hii !! Same grade but different divisions, Seemed like a destiny derision. Recess bell rang, Coming out with their gangs, Antsy eyes finding the paramour. Their eyes met, Not feeling fret, Taking a quick glance, They turned their heads. The glance proved enough, For sleeping in the bed. But both oblivious of the new found pash, Consoled themselves to forget and smash. Years later meeting at the reunion, He had grown into a young, charismatic man, And she into a vivacious and dynamic juvenile lady. Ready for revelation of their feelings, But the fear of rejection kept them killing. They awaited this moment, Since they had graduated, But their minds hesitated, However hearts insisted. Their puppy love no longer exist

Recently I saw a promo of a daily soap in which the female protagonist on being asked what she wants to do further after securing 32% in her 12th boards replies,   " Main bas khush rehna chahti hu, papa." In today's world of cut throat competition, we seldom forget that the key of thine happiness is in your very own hands. We try to find happiness in materialistic things and that is the reason for one not being contented with what one has. Posting pictures on instagram and adding stories on snapchat with a caption  "#bliss"  "#happy", is that actual happiness ?? Today people are so occupied with their work in order to achieve great heights that they forget to live life. I think happiness is spending time with your loved ones, knowing and loving them a little more, sitting under the stars, cherishing the first rains !!
